The story

How it went, moment by moment

Getting ready

Matteo got ready at home, with the petrol-green suit hanging under the portico, the watch, the cufflinks and a last bit of help with his tie. Giada in her room with make-up and hair, her friends already dressed in light blue and the dress hanging outdoors on a red frame, next to the shoes and the sunflower bouquet.

The ceremony in the garden

At Pio Nono guests found the welcome sign and the order of service decorated with sunflowers. Matteo came in through the gate, then Giada along the path between the fountain and the parasols. The readings and the vows at the microphone, the sand ceremony with green and white sand poured into a single heart-shaped bottle, the rings, the kiss and the signing in front of the floral arch.

Drinks and portraits

After walking out to applause, drinks with a buffet and the couple’s toast by the fountain. In the afternoon, portraits in the park: the little bridge over the pond, the iron gate, the old olive tree and the lawn in front of the villa.

The reception

The couple entered the reception room dancing with their friends in colourful glasses. Round tables with wild flowers and sunflowers, the top table with the words Mr & Mrs and, at every place, a puzzle-piece place card with the date.

Cake, first dance and party

At sunset the white cake was cut in the garden, among the olive trees and the sparklers, and a few last portraits in the evening. Then the first dance under fairy lights and the party on the dance floor into the night.
