How it went, moment by moment

Getting ready at home

Luca got ready at home, among cufflinks, a pale tie and the green waistcoat carefully adjusted before going out, while a cheeky banner awaited him outside. Laura in her room, with make-up, the lace dress to be fastened and white shoes, then hugs at the front door and the autumn bouquet on the bonnet of the vintage car.

The ceremony in Bornato

The ceremony took place in the church of San Bartolomeo in Bornato: Laura arrived in a vintage car and was walked down the aisle to Luca. The exchange of rings, the signing, the kiss at the altar and the walk out in front of the church under a shower of petals.

Among the vines

Before the reception we stopped with the couple among the vines, their leaves just beginning to turn with the autumn. Then the arrival at the estate along the tree-lined drive, still in the vintage car.

Tenuta Acquaviva

At Tenuta Acquaviva the guests found drinks in the garden under the willows, with a singer and a live band, and a seating plan shaped like an open book, with tables named after fairy-tale characters. The reception in the glass-walled hall, among climbing plants and flowers, began with the couple’s entrance, greeted by waving napkins.

Sunset portraits

In the late afternoon we explored the estate with Laura and Luca: the gate under the portico, the tree-lined drive in the last of the light, the courtyard with the rooms and the big illuminated Mr & Mrs letters in front of the house.

Cake and party

In the evening Laura, in a pink dress, arrived with Luca between two rows of applauding guests, on the lawn under the willows. The cake was cut under the crystal chandelier amid fountains of light, then games with the guests, the bouquet toss, a huge gift box to unwrap and dancing until late.
