The story

How it went, moment by moment

Getting ready

Francesco got ready with his family, among cufflinks, braces and the blue cravat to be tied, then went out with his friends for a toast before church. Alexandra on the terrace overlooking the hills, with the dress hanging from the pergola, make-up, a toast with her friends in pink robes and the veil in front of the French window.

The church ceremony

Alexandra arrived at the church in a white car with ribbons and walked down the aisle between green garlands. The vows at the microphone, the exchange of rings, the kiss and the signing, then the walk out in front of the church under a shower of petals.

Arriving at Tenuta Frizzoni

At the estate the guests found drinks on the terrace with a view over the hills and a travel-themed seating plan, with boarding passes and little paper aeroplanes. The newlyweds came down the garden steps between the hedges and the soap bubbles, greeted by applause.

The portraits

We explored the estate with the couple: the steps between the hedges, the arched loggia with its geraniums, the cobbled courtyard beneath façades covered in greenery and bougainvillea. In the late-afternoon light we climbed to the viewpoint over the hills and among the trees of the park.

Dinner, cake and party

Dinner in the hall began with napkins waving, amid toasts and speeches. In the evening Alexandra changed into a second dress: the walk through the sparklers, the cake under the fairy lights with a live violin and the champagne tower, the bouquet toss. Then the first dance and the party in the cellar, with smoke, heart-shaped glasses and dancing until late.
