The story

How it went, moment by moment

Getting ready

Valerio got ready with his jacket hanging in the window and pyjamas embroidered with his name and the date, then the cufflinks, the tie and photos on the grand staircase. Francesca in a period villa with palm trees in the park: the robe with her name, make-up, the dress to be fastened and her father’s emotion at seeing her dressed as a bride.

The ceremony at the Abbey

Francesca arrived at the Abbey of Rodengo in a white horse-drawn carriage, along the cypress avenue, accompanied by her father. In church, the aisle runner with her dedication to her father, the exchange of rings, the signing, the kiss under the veil and the walk out amid petals and applause.

Portraits on the hill

After the ceremony we climbed with the couple along a path between dry-stone walls and mountains, up to two little stone churches. Embraces in the shade of the pines, a dandelion clock to blow together and a few laughs lying on the low wall.

Solive, from drinks to dinner

At Solive the newlyweds came in under the portico to the sound of a saxophone, with drinks in the garden and the hall laid with pink flowers and the estate’s own wine. Soap bubbles on the lawn, the drone over the vineyards, then dinner in the hall with exposed beams and games on the lawn with friends.

Vineyards, cake and party

At blue hour, with Francesca in her short evening dress, portraits among the vines, at the gate and under the illuminated olive tree. Then the guests’ tunnel of lights, the cake cutting amid fountains of sparks, the fireworks, LOVE spelt out in sparklers, the bouquet toss and the party under the portico into the night.
