The wedding of Alessandra and Morris

The story

How it went, moment by moment

Getting ready

Morris got ready at home in his green jacket and light waistcoat, helped by his friends with the cufflinks and by his mother with the tie, then a touch of fragrance and a portrait on the stairs. Alessandra, between make-up and curls, laughed with her friends sprawled on the bed, then the lace dress fastened by her mother, the shoes and a long hug with her father before leaving.

The church ceremony

Alessandra arrived in the rain, sheltered by an umbrella, and walked into the church decorated with blue hydrangeas and lanterns, where Morris was waiting for her at the altar. The exchange of rings, smiles during the ceremony, the signing and the kiss at the altar, with a dip.

Walking out

Outside the church their friends greeted them with a shower of rice and confetti, among the blue flowers either side of the church door, and a kiss on the steps.

The lake and the stone

As the sky cleared we went up to a viewpoint overlooking the lake and the mountains, then along a little lane among the olive trees, past a small stone church and old walls, with the veil flying in the wind.

At Corte Priore

At Corte Priore, the drinks reception with live music, the hall with its stone wall and the couple’s table among the hydrangeas. Their entrance into the hall was greeted by guests waving their napkins; in the afternoon, games in the park, a piggyback race with Alessandra on Morris’s shoulders, a tug of war and, seen from the drone, a heart drawn by the guests on the lawn.

Sunset, cake and party

With the sun low, Alessandra and Morris strolled through the park, under the white gazebo, among the backlit trees and between the rows of the vineyard. In the evening, the cake amid sparkler fountains and coloured smoke, then the word LOVE written with sparklers and dancing among the guests into the night.
