The story

How it went, moment by moment

The morning of getting ready

Alessandro dresses at an unhurried pace: the jacket hanging at the window, the cufflinks, the bow tie, the shoes. Emanuela gets ready with her friends amid toasts, laughter and the gown unfolding in the room.

The park and the decorations

In the Relais park the lawn in front of the temple is ready: white chairs, arrangements of pink and lilac flowers, petal cones for the exit and the seating plan hung on an old sparkling-wine riddling rack.

The ceremony in front of the temple

Emanuela arrives by car along the drive and walks down the aisle on the lawn, with the mountains in the background. Readings by friends, live music, vows read aloud, the rings, the signing and the exit under a shower of petals.

Aperitif, lunch and games

The couple’s toast in the garden, the aperitif under the pergola and their entrance into the hall to a flurry of waving napkins. In the afternoon the guests take each other on at ping pong and table football.

Portraits in the park

In the afternoon light we took Alessandro and Emanuela among the hedges, beneath the green arch, among the olive trees and onto the steps of the park.

The cake and the party

Cutting the cake among the flowers, the bouquet toss and the sparkling wine uncorked, then the first dance with the live band and a party that carries on late into the night.
